Industrial vacuum cleaners are used in almost all branches of industry and are capable of vacuuming practically every type of material, apart from the extraction of gases and emulsions (and even that is possible with special equipment). As their name indicates, industrial vacuum cleaners are made specifically for industrial purposes. Industrial vacuum cleaners differ from their household variants in that they offer higher performance with motors capable of working for longer periods without sustaining damage, and they also have larger storage capacities (dust collectors). Due to the above, both the mechanical parts and the filtration equipment of industrial vacuum cleaners are entirely different from their smaller counterparts, since they have to do their job in entirely different conditions. Wet vacuums also belong to the category of industrial vacuum cleaners.  They can be used in a wide variety of fields and are of great advantage in sectors where materials are not moved in a closed circuit. They are able to remove large amounts of contaminants in a short time, and are thus exceptionally efficient. At the same time, they are small and mobile.

Wet vacuums can also be used for cleanroom systems, as they can be fitted with filters of varying classes. Cleanroom applications require class H or H+ filters (equivalent to a particle size of 2-5 microns), which can be accomplished due to the perfectly closed system. The image shows equipment designed for use in a clean room. It is also available in stainless steel and can be used for both dry and wet technologies and for vacuuming oil and shavings.

Industrial wet vacuums can be divided into two major groups, central and portable vacuum cleaners. Central systems are recommended for work processes that are run largely at fixed locations and where there are surfaces that require daily cleaning, such as in food industry companies where basic materials or additives are added during the technological process. Both the central and the portable variants can be expanded with various units. Cyclone filters and additional collection units can be integrated with both types, thus extending operating hours and reducing the frequency of emptying. Extendable arms can be attached for extracting welding fumes and other gases, including exhaust fumes, making them excellent for use in repair shops. These units are all equipped with extra filters.

Vacuums are also available in ATEX versions which are suitable for special functions. In these cases, the suction tube is equipped with metal filaments to provide added strength, which must be fixed to the shock-proof and anti-spark inlet connection.

Other versions include discharge pipes that can be used with automated systems, for instance where they sense when a box is full and blow it off the conveyor belt into the designated collector.

Additional uses include: vacuum packing, bookbinding, in the textile and plastics industries (to vacuum the waste generated by cutting to size), and many others. They are widespread in the pharmaceutical, food and cereal industries, and as mentioned in the introduction, they are also recommended for the removal of all other industrial dust contamination.
